KJVI got its authorization for the construction permit from the Federal Communication Commission in January 1, 2014. By March 2015 the project was sold to the its current ownership. After months work KJVI On November 29,2015 got all requirements necessary to meet the Federal Communications Commission licensing to broadcast and the commission granted KJVI to start program tests and operate. KJVI FCC licensed was granted to broadcast covering Robert Lee, in its coverage area in West Texas KJVI covers Ballinger, Bronte, Carlsbad, Grape Creek, Miles, Norton, Rowena, San Angelo, and Tennyson.
